Stage 1 vs. Stage 2 Faja: How to Choose the Right Compression
One of the most common questions after surgery is: what's the difference between a Stage 1 and Stage 2 faja, and when do you switch? Here's everything you need to know.
Stage 1 Faja: Maximum Compression for Early Healing
A Stage 1 faja is designed for the first 3–6 weeks post-op. It provides the firmest compression to reduce swelling, prevent seromas, and protect your surgical results during the most critical healing phase.
Key features:
- Firm, structured compression
- Open-butt design for BBL patients
- Hook-and-eye or zipper closure for easy on/off
- Worn 23 hours a day

Stage 2 Faja: Shaping & Sculpting
A Stage 2 faja is softer and more comfortable, designed for weeks 6–12+ once initial swelling has reduced. It continues to shape and sculpt while allowing more freedom of movement.
Key features:
- Moderate compression
- More comfortable for extended daily wear
- Worn 12–16 hours a day
- Focuses on shaping and maintaining results
