Why Does My Faja Roll Down? (And How to Fix It)

Why Does My Faja Roll Down? (And How to Fix It)

You put on your faja, get dressed, and within an hour it's rolled down to your hips. Sound familiar? You're not alone — this is one of the most frustrating parts of post-op recovery. Here's why it happens and exactly how to fix it.

Reason 1: It's the Wrong Size

The most common culprit. If your faja is too large, it won't grip your body properly and will slide down throughout the day. Post-surgery swelling can also change your measurements week by week, meaning a garment that fit perfectly in week 1 may be too loose by week 3.

Fix: Get remeasured every 2–3 weeks and size down as swelling reduces. Use our Pink Retractable Measuring Tape to track your measurements accurately.

Reason 2: The Style Isn't Right for Your Body

Not all fajas are designed the same. Some styles are better suited for shorter torsos, others for longer ones. If the waistband sits at the wrong point on your body, it will roll.

Fix: Browse our Stage 1 Recovery collection to find the right style for your body type and procedure — from mid-thigh girdles to full-length bodysuits.

Reason 3: You're Not Wearing It Correctly

Putting on a faja incorrectly — especially when you're sore and moving slowly — can cause it to sit unevenly from the start.

Fix: Always put your faja on lying down or standing straight. Smooth it upward from the bottom, making sure there are no folds or bunches before you fasten it.

Reason 4: The Fabric Has Lost Its Elasticity

If you've been wearing the same garment for weeks without rotating, the fabric may have stretched out and lost its compression power.

Fix: Rotate between two garments and hand wash in cold water to preserve elasticity. Check out our Stage 1 Faja + Recovery Robe Combo to have a complete set ready.
