5 Signs Your Post-Surgery Garment Doesn't Fit Properly (And What to Do About It)
Your compression garment is one of the most important tools in your recovery — but only if it fits correctly. Here's how to tell if yours isn't doing its job.
1. It Rolls Down or Bunches
If your garment constantly rolls at the waist or thighs, it's likely too large. Rolling creates uneven pressure and can cause indentations in healing tissue. Read our full guide: Why Does My Faja Roll Down?
2. It Leaves Deep, Painful Marks
Some light marking is normal, but deep, painful impressions that last hours after removal indicate the garment is too tight or the wrong style for your procedure. You may need to size up or try a different style from our Stage 1 Recovery collection.
3. You Can't Breathe Comfortably
You should be able to take a full, deep breath. If you can't, the compression level is too high or the garment is too small. Read: How Tight Should Your Faja Feel After Surgery?
4. It Doesn't Stay in Place
A garment that shifts throughout the day isn't providing consistent compression — which is the whole point. Use our Pink Retractable Measuring Tape to check your measurements and make sure you're in the right size.
5. You're Experiencing Unusual Swelling in Uncovered Areas
If swelling is migrating to areas not covered by the garment, the coverage zone may be wrong for your procedure. Browse our Stage 1 collection for procedure-specific options including mid-thigh girdles, full bodysuits, and compression vests.
